Who’s behind Camp Cash
The Finance Bar is a Charlotte financial wellness company that helps women and couples with their money through financial therapy, a members club and community events. Its founder, Marsha Barnes, is certified in Financial Therapy and Financial Social Work.
Huepact is a Charlotte consulting firm that helps nonprofits and mission-driven organizations grow their impact. Its founder, Jania Massey, worked with The Finance Bar on Camp Cash.
A financial wellness retreat has to be affordable to attend
A retreat about financial wellness can’t ask guests to drop the full price on one card. The women Camp Cash serves needed to pay in a way that fit their budgets, or the event would undercut its own message. As Jania put it:
Our guests could book and pay in a way that worked for their budgets, which matters a lot when the whole point of your event is financial wellness.
On the hosting side, a sold-out weekend means a lot to track: who registered, who has paid, who is behind, and how to reach everyone before they arrive.
Planning a group retreat has many moving parts and can turn into a full-time job.
Registration, payment plans and messages in one place
Guests registered and booked on a single Camp Cash page, so there was one link to share and one place where every booking landed. Guests could choose to pay over time, and SquadTrip collected each installment on schedule, so the hosts didn’t send payment requests by hand. Updates to guests went out from the same place that held their bookings.
On our side we always had a clear picture of who was in, who was paid, and who still needed a nudge, without chasing spreadsheets across five different tools.
Sold out, with installments as the norm
All 24 spots booked. Twenty-two of the 24 women paid in installments, most of them in three payments. With the admin handled, the hosts put their energy into the weekend itself.
The programming made room for the whole of the women’s lives. Many of the guests care for children while beginning to care for aging parents, so the weekend included a hands-on CPR session.
SquadTrip took a big piece of that off our plates so we could focus on the experience: the speakers, the programming, and the women in the room.
Camp Cash 2027 is already booking
Camp Cash 2027 runs October 15 to 17, 2027. It went live for booking before the 2026 weekend was even over, while the women who loved it were still in the room.
What other retreat hosts can take from Camp Cash
Match the price to how your guests pay. If most of your guests would rather pay over time, a payment plan isn’t a nice extra. It’s how they say yes. More on that in do payment plans increase retreat bookings?
Keep registration, payments and messages in one place. Every extra tool is another spreadsheet to reconcile. See how to track group travel payments without spreadsheets.
Open the next date while the energy is high. Camp Cash put next year’s weekend up for booking before this year’s ended.
